The Emerald Tablets of Djahuti

Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Hayyah al-Maghribi was a scholar from the Maghreb region of North Africa—modern-day Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and surrounding areas—an area that played a pivotal role in the preservation and transmission of ancient knowledge during the Islamic Golden Age.

This work of the Emerald Tablets was safeguarded by a group of anonymous writers and translators, known as "Few Are Chosen", dedicated to preserving its sacred teachings across generations. They sought to correct the false translations propagated by Eurocentric cults that harvested ancient knowledge only to misappropriate it for the masses. Their mission was to ensure that the wisdom of the Tablets remained untouched by time, keeping it sacred and hidden within spiritual circles, reserved for the few who are truly chosen to understand its depths.

Ibn Hayyah’s translation aligned with the spiritual currents of his time, and he was associated with a few Sufi orders, his work intersected with emerging traditions such as the Qadiriyya, Shadhiliyya, Malamatiyya, and later the Tijaniyya orders.
